Free Baggage Allowance
Viva Macau's free baggage allowance varies according to the class in which you are traveling and your destination.
If you're one of our Premium Class passengers, you may check-in up to 30kg of baggage without extra charge. Economy Class passengers can carry up to 20kg as free baggage allowance.
Most airports allow you to keep your pram, baby stroller, wheelchair or other light mobility vehicles until you board the aircraft. They will be returned directly after disembarking at the aircraft or in the jetty. Please note that the place where such items are returned may vary locally.
Do remember that any bag/item exceeding 32kg shall not be carried as accompanied baggage unless you make prior handling arrangements.
Children under two years do not have a free baggage allowance. However, we accept a small collapsible baby stroller or your baby basket free of charge. The stroller will be transported in the cargo compartment. Disabled passengers are permitted to check a wheelchair in addition to their free baggage allowance.
The sum of the three dimensions of one bag shall not exceed 158cm, and in Economy Class 273cm for both bags. Children under two years have a free baggage allowance of one piece.
Carry-on baggage
Economy and Premium Class passengers may take one piece of hand luggage on board. The hand luggage should be stowed under the seat in front of you.
Each piece of hand luggage may not be larger than 115cm in dimensions, 56x36x23cm (22x14x9 in) and may not weigh more than 7kg. A foldable garment bag (no larger than 57x54x15 cm) may also be taken on board as hand luggage. For your safety and comfort, and that of your fellow passengers, bags exceeding these limits must be checked in.
In addition to your hand luggage, you may take the following items on board:
A handbag, wrist bag or small bag with shoulder straps
A coat, shawl or blanket
An umbrella or walking stick
A small camera or a pair of binoculars
An appropriate amount of reading material for the journey
A baby basket and baby food for consumption during the flight
Crutches or other orthopedic aids needed during the journey
Not allowed in carry-on baggage are all items that may cause injury:
Weapons and items that may be used as weapons which can discharge a projectile, or look-alike weapons, pointed and sharp items, etc.
Excess Baggage
For baggage carried in excess of allowable limit, fees may apply. Please contact Viva Macau or your travel agent.
Special Baggage

Electronic Devices
For the transportation of electronic devices, e. g. walkman sets, CD players, laptops, mobile phones etc., different regulations apply locally. Certain electronic devices may not be used on board as they may interfere with the electronic aviation systems. Please check with our flight attendants who will advise you on whether you can use your device during the flight. Mobile phones have to be completely switched off during the entire flight.
Sports Equipment
Sports equipment can be carried not over 50kg in total, and each piece should not exceed 32kg.
Departure
Please mark each piece of baggage clearly with your name and address. We will be glad to supply you with suitable tags and stickers free of charge. Do not forget to remove tags and stickers left over from previous flights as they may cause your bags to be misrouted.
Before checking in your baggage, please make sure that it does not contain any valuables such as jewelry, money, fragile and electronic items or business documents, etc. Viva Macau assumes no liability for fragile, valuable or perishable articles.
Security Checks
Before you board your flight, your carry-on baggage will be security checked. If the security check includes x-ray screening, film material up to 1000 ASA/31 DIN is safe.
Please be aware that depending on local regulations, certain items which may cause injuries may not be taken on board in your carry-on baggage. This includes knives and scissors.
Please understand that Viva Macau refuses liability if such items are confiscated at security checks.
If anyone approaches you at the last minute and asks you to do them a favor by taking along a package with unidentified contents, always decline to do so and notify the police, customs or a member of our staff immediately.
Baggage Reclaim
When collecting your baggage we recommend that you check the name on the baggage or compare the baggage tag numbers to avoid any error - many suitcases look alike.
Should your baggage be missing or damaged upon arrival please notify a member of our airport staff at once so that a report may be issued. We can only accept liability if a claim is lodged within the prescribed time limit. Viva Macau assume no liability if any baggage reclaim after passenger leave the arrival area.
Liability and Baggage Insurance
Passengers are responsible for their carry-on baggage and personal belongings they take on board with them.
Airlines' liability is regulated by law.
Securing Baggage / Valuables
When traveling, it is worth taking extra measures to secure your baggage and valuables.
Please refer to a few pointers below:
Baggage Tips
Attach name tag(s) or card on the outside and inside of your baggage.
Attach unique stickers, tape, or labels on your baggage to ease identification and avoid collection errors on arrival.
Ensure your baggage are securely closed and locked where possible.
Use good quality baggage that does not damage easily and lasts longer.
Remove old destination tag.
Hand-carry items of value or important documents.
We are not liable for loss of, damage to or delay in the delivery of fragile or perishable items, keys, artwork, cameras, money, jewelry, precious metals, silverware, medicines, drug, dangerous goods, commercial goods, odd-sized articles, negotiable papers, securities or other valuables, business documents, passports and other identification documents, or samples, which are included in your checked baggage.
Prohibited Items
For safety and security reasons, dangerous goods such as those listed below, must not be carried in passenger's baggage (checked or unchecked):
Attach briefcases with installed alarm devices; or incorporate lithium batteries and/or pyrotechnic material;
Explosives, munitions, fireworks and flares;
Compressed gases (flammable, non-flammable or poisonous) such as butane, propane, aqualung cylinders, lighter fuels or refills, aerosols;
Flammable liquids such as paints, thinner, adhesives;
Flammable solids such as "strike anywhere matches" and articles which are easily ignited;
Oxidizing substances such as bleaching powder and peroxides;
Poisons such as arsenic, cyanides, insecticides, weed killers;
Radioactive materials;
Corrosive materials such as mercury (which may be contained in thermometers or blood pressure gauges), acids, alkalis and wet cell batteries;
Knives (including hunting knives, swords), scissors and any other sharp objects (e.g. ice-pick) considered illegal by local law and;
Any other substances which, during a flight, present a danger not covered above, such as magnetized, offensive or irritating materials.

Oxidizing substances

The importation into Macau of arms and ammunition is governed by laws, which require import licenses or permits to be issued in advance by the authorities concerned.
Please contact our reservations office for further information. Harpoons and spear guns are classified as arms. Examples of a restricted article would include:
Firearms including shotguns, air guns, humane killers, bolt guns, flare pistols and Starting pistols, ammunition, replica or imitation firearms, cross bows.
Explosive material, including military, commercial or home-made explosive, explosive devices, detonators, smoke cartridges, grenades, mines and other explosive military ordinance, replica or imitation explosive material or devices.
Pointed or bladed items made or adapted to cause injury, flick knives, gravity catch knives, stilettos, daggers, kukris, other knives both real or ceremonial with blades of any length or description, including sheath knives, kirpans and skeandhus, open razors, scalpels, ice picks, swords, sword sticks, umbrellas containing sword blades or arrows.
Items containing incapacitating substances, including tear gas, mace and phosphorous acids.
Highly inflammable substances (e.g. petrol, lighter fuel, etc.)
Gas containers and aerosols with a capacity of more than 500ml.
Knuckle-dusters, clubs, coshes, rice flails.

Baggage Liability Limitations
Our liability for loss, delay, or damage to baggage is limited unless a higher value is declared in advance and additional charges are paid. Excess valuation may not be declared on certain types of articles.
For most international travel (including domestic portions of international journey), the liability limit is approximately USD20 per kg for checked baggage and USD400 per passenger for unchecked baggage.

Delayed Baggage
If your baggage does not come off the conveyor belt, please file a report with our Baggage Services Counter located at the Arrival Hall or check with our baggage services staff, prior to customs clearance. Our staff or handling agent will try our best to help.

Damaged Baggage
If your baggage is damaged, please file a report with our Baggage Services Counter located at the Arrival Hall or check with our baggage services staff, prior to customs clearance. Our staff or handling agent will arrange repairing services and provide you assistance.

Notice of Claim
Upon completion, please return the form to us by mail or fax as indicated in your Property Irregularity Report, together with copies of your passenger tickets, baggage claim tags, excess baggage tickets and purchase receipts. You can also contact our Baggage Services directly in your particular country / territory.

Notification Periods
A loss or damage should be reported immediately at the airport. However, a retroactive written notification is also possible.
Please observe the following notification periods:
Damage and partial loss:
- within seven (7) days after baggage delivery
Total loss:
- within two (2) years
Replacement purchases in case of delayed baggage delivery:
- within 21 days after baggage delivery
The postmark or the automatic date of receipt in case of fax or email is decisive for the observance of notification periods.

If you have private insurance coverage for your baggage, a claim should also be lodged with your insurance company. You can easily obtain the necessary information from us.
Security Checks
Thorough security checks are carried out at all airports that Viva Macau operates from. In these checks, local authorities will confiscate items of potential danger to the aircraft or its passengers, e.g. pocket knives, scissors, and any bladed or sharp items. If these items are handed over to Viva Macau by the authorities, they will be kept at the intercepted airports for seven days for your collection, after which, they will be disposed of. They will not be forwarded to your destination or delivered to you. To avoid possible inconvenience, we suggest that you pack such items in your checked baggage.
We will not be responsible for, nor have any liability in respect of, items removed from passengers or their baggage by airport security personnel acting in accordance with international or government regulations, whether or not any such items are subsequently retained or destroyed by such airport security personnel, or are passed by such airport security personnel to us.
