Our Story
Simply Different
When VIVA Macau was founded in 2004, our team of experienced and dedicated airline
managers pledged to create an international low fare airline that truly reflects
our home city, Macau - Asia's new Las Vegas.

Macau is a truly cosmopolitan city on the southern coast of China, with five centuries
of romance and an exciting future that combines the best elements of Europe and
Asia.
In Portuguese, VIVA means "Hurray", evoking images of fun and celebration. For the
VIVA Macau team, that's exactly the kind of service attitude and environment we
want to give to our customers everyday.
VIVA Macau is Macau's second home airline, but the only one focused on providing
an international network of services from Macau International Airport. Our airline
will fly to an exciting range of international destinations - opening new routes
for Macau and the Pearl River Delta, and complementing Macau's development as a
centre for entertainment, leisure and business tourism.
VIVA Macau will operate a fleet of modern Boeing 767 wide-body jetliners, with up
to 245 seats in a two-class configuration. Our aircraft have a maximum range of
up to 12 hours, allowing VIVA Macau to provide passengers with non-stop services
from Macau to cities as far away as Moscow, Sydney or Milan. We will launch services
this year with a fleet of two Boeing 767s, building up to 10 to 15 aircraft within
five years.
With the Boeing 767 jetliner, VIVA Macau also has significant space in our belly-holds
for airfreight consignments, an important strategic consideration given that Macau
sits on the edge of the Pearl River Delta, the world's manufacturing workshop. That
means we can rely on freight revenues to help develop new routes for Macau, something
which other airlines using narrow-body aircraft just cannot do.
VIVA Macau's senior team is crewed by some of the best and brightest airline managers
from blue chip airlines in Asia and around the world, including Singapore Airlines,
Cathay Pacific Airways, Lufthansa and Dragonair. Collectively, the team has more
than 200 years of experience in airline management and operations, aircraft engineering,
and in-flight and customers services. Our team is committed to giving our customers
a professional and reliable, yet dynamic and people-oriented airline experience.
VIVA Macau Chief Executive is Con Korfiatis. VIVA Macau's President Ngan In Leng is
a well-known businessman and philanthropist in Macau and China. He is active as
a leader of Macau's large ethnic Fujianese community and is chairman of the Goddess
A-Ma Foundation of Macau. Mr Ngan is also Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee
of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political
advisory body.
